Happy New Year
Happy New Year! Starting a new year off on the right foot, regardless of what you’re striving to achieve, begins with one simple
behavior: Creating a vision. What do you want out of 2019? What’s going to be different this year? Transforming into the
person you want to be in 2019 is not so difficult so long as you have the dedication, focus and correct tools.
I recently read an article from SUCCESS magazine by Tony Robbins, an American author, entrepreneur, philanthropist and
life coach where he explains everything you need to know to truly transform and make this your best year yet. Below is an
excerpt of Robbins’ 5-step plan to begin crafting the best year of your life.
Step 1: Feed your mind. Feeding your mind, Robbins says, is all about perspective. “You’ve got to bring something new to
it,” he says. “Otherwise, you’re going to keep operating off the same old beliefs, the same old thoughts, the same old emotions
that have not gotten you to the level you want.” Don’t just hope things will go your way. Condition yourself to believe that
they will. Step 2: Strengthen your body. Strengthening one’s mind is crucial. But equally important is strengthening one’s
body. Priming your physical self can set the stage for the change you want to see mentally or emotionally. “You’re going to get
depressed if you drop your shoulders, hang your head and speak softly,” Robbins says. But if you go for an intense run, music
blaring and heart pumping, your body and mind will both be energized and clear, and you’ll be able to better focus on what
you want. Step 3: Find a great role model. Identify someone who is already getting the results you want. “You don’t want
to try to do it yourself,” Robbins admits. “You want to model someone who is already getting results.” Step 4: Take massive
action. This step is simple: Make a huge step forward. But, Robbins says, you must remember to be flexible and alter your
course if necessary. Step 5: Get outside of yourself. Instead of focusing 100% on your goals and what you want to achieve,
you must also find a way to add value to others. “As corny as it sounds, the spirit of living is giving, and it’s what makes us
alive,” Robbins says. Helping others will have two primary impacts on you: your problems will lessen in intensity and your
life will have more meaning.
I challenge you to think about what you want and what you are here to serve. What is your core passion? What do you need to
change in yourself to manifest and fuel that passion? There is no better time to take action than right now. “When you reinvent
yourself, you’re going through a process of how do I become more so I can give more,” Robbins says. “If that’s your mindset,
you’re likely going to prosper.” SERVPRO of Sunrise wishes you a happy and successful 2019. Cheers to new beginnings!
